If your lawn needs renovation or restoration, now's the time to start preparing. If total restoration is required, use glyphosate (such as Roundup) to kill off existing weeds and turf. After a week, aerate, re-seed, fertilize with a starter fertilizer, and water lightly once or twice daily until germination, then reduce watering to daily or every other day.
